DrBev, it’s been so hard for me to Read between the lines of my life. My lines has often been called by many names, such as unhappy, gloomy, in the dumps, discouraged, disappointed, ashamed, useless, worthless, ill at ease and many more. No matter what I call it or how I display it.  I read one of your post on Depression citing

Be aware that not all of us crawl into bed, cover our head and cry.  Many people show their sadness through anger Depression , being nice-nasty, withholding love from others and themselves.

Depression is a struggle you can make it through, it just may take time. DrBev is the first to tell you that sadness is a natural part of life; however, if you go through an intense unhappy period that lasts for more than a several weeks, it is probably a sign of depression.

Remember, everybody does depression differently, yes; they may do the exact opposite of what is expected of a depressed person. I once knew a woman that the more depressed she became the better she took care of herself, externally. That is, no one could tell just looking at the way she dressed, which was immaculate or well-kept hair that she was so hurt, heartbroken, lonely, depressed, and at times suicidal Night Falls Fast: Understanding Suicide .

For most people depression may be so debilitating that it makes people unable to ask for help. They may also be embarrassed about their condition. If you suspect depression, encourage yourself to consult a psychotherapist, doctor, or professional with expertise in treating depression. Assist yourself in any way you can to get a thorough evaluation with someone you are comfortable with

Understanding depression, its effects and treatment will allow you to better understand and help to make more informed decisions. Knowledge and education will increase your emotional health.  Ask questions, read books and visit reliable websites about the diagnosis and treatment of depression.  Remember “Emotions R Us” all of us.
